1. Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using CalBar ("the App") or accessing the website at calbar.app ("the Website"), users agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"). If these Terms are not agreed to, the App or Website should not be used.

These Terms apply to all users of CalBar and the Website, regardless of how the services are accessed or used.

2. Description of Service

CalBar App:

  • A macOS menubar application that displays calendar events
  • Integrates with macOS Calendar app and supported calendar services
  • Processes all calendar data locally on your Mac
  • Requires macOS 14.0 or later

3. License and Usage Rights

App License:

Subject to compliance with these Terms, a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license is granted to download, install, and use CalBar on devices owned or controlled by the user, solely for personal, non-commercial use.

Restrictions:

  • No reverse engineering, decompilation, or disassembly
  • No redistribution or resale of the App
  • No removal of copyright notices or proprietary markings

4. Mac App Store Terms

CalBar is distributed through the Mac App Store. Your download and use of CalBar is also subject to Apple's Mac App Store Terms of Service and Apple's Privacy Policy.

  • Apple handles all payment processing and refunds
  • Apple's standard return policy applies
  • Apple may collect data related to your app usage as per their privacy policy
  • Updates are delivered through the Mac App Store

5. Privacy and Data

CalBar App:

  • Collects no personal data or calendar information
  • All calendar data remains on your Mac
  • No network connections for data collection
  • No analytics, telemetry, or tracking

6. System Requirements and Compatibility

CalBar requires:

  • macOS 14.0 (Sonoma) or later
  • Compatible with Apple Silicon and Intel Macs
  • Access to macOS Calendar app
  • Calendar accounts configured in macOS Calendar

Compatibility with future macOS versions is not guaranteed, though compatibility maintenance through updates is attempted when possible.

7. User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Use CalBar only for lawful purposes
  • Maintain the security of your Mac and calendar accounts
  • Not attempt to circumvent any security measures
  • Keep your copy of CalBar up to date
  • Not use CalBar in any way that could harm the services or other users

8. Intellectual Property

CalBar, including its design, code, graphics, and documentation, is protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. All rights not expressly granted to you are reserved.

"CalBar" and associated logos are trademarks. These trademarks may not be used without prior written permission.

Calendar Data:

CalBar displays calendar information from the macOS Calendar app. No responsibility is assumed for the accuracy, completeness, or reliability of calendar data.

Limitation of Liability:

To the maximum extent permitted by law, no liability is assumed for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or revenues, whether incurred directly or indirectly.

11. Termination

These Terms remain in effect until terminated by either party. These Terms may be terminated at any time by deleting CalBar from devices and ceasing use of the Website.

Access may be terminated or suspended immediately, without prior notice, if these Terms are breached or inappropriate conduct occurs.

12. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable laws. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of CalBar will be resolved through binding arbitration or in courts of competent jurisdiction.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable, the remaining provisions will remain in full force and effect.

13. Changes to Terms

These Terms may be modified at any time. When changes are made, the "Last updated" date will be updated and revised Terms will be posted on the Website.

Continued use of CalBar or the Website after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

14. Third-Party Services

CalBar integrates with calendar services through your macOS Calendar app (iCloud, Google Calendar, Exchange, etc.). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms of service and privacy policies.

No responsibility is assumed for the availability, functionality, or policies of third-party calendar services.

15. Export Controls

CalBar may be subject to export control laws and regulations. You agree to comply with all applicable export and import laws and regulations in your use of CalBar.
